Situated on 150 acres of oceanfront property in the historic village of West End at the tip of Grand Bahama Island, Old Bahama Bay is just 56 miles due east of Palm Beach, Florida. The property is comprised of a luxury boutique Inn with 24 beachfront guestrooms, an oceanfront pool, restaurant, massage pavilion and the region’s – if not the world’s – finest fishing, diving, snorkeling and boating activities. The resort also features residential home sites with water frontage for private docks, condominiums, and a 72-slip full-service marina accommodating vessels up to 120’ and offering official port-of-entry and on-site immigration and customs.

The challenge was to create awareness of a newly developed product located about 40 minutes outside of Freeport, Grand Bahama Island in a secluded and pristine section of the island. Grand Bahama Island is not known as an upscale destination; so the goal was to promote our exclusive location, upscale accommodations and services to media covering travel, real estate and boating. This would be a self-contained resort and residential community devoid of the usual resort/island attractions. In addition to promoting the resort, we were tasked with assisting the real estate division to generate awareness with the ultimate goal of spurring sales.

Introduce media covering key markets to the Old Bahama Bay product while communicating our key messages in support of the sales and marketing goal of positioning the property as an upscale resort, residential and marina community.
Promote the marina as the first port-of-entry to Grand Bahama Island and full-service marina to upscale boaters in the Florida market.
Launch residential product that included a spec home designed by the late architect, Arne Hasselqvist before his death. Generate real estate interest within the second home market to key segments.
Promote resort product to upscale travelers with the hook being oversized guestrooms and suites with direct access to the beach.

Target honeymoon and weddings markets in support of packages that included private boat excursions to private Cays. Packages featured many value-added services such as coordinator to arrange the entire event.

Conde Nast Traveler named Old Bahama Bay to its 100 best hotels list in 2002, which also included feature
